Climate change is without a doubt, the most hotly discussed topic around today.
Young Engineers joined forces with Engineers Without Borders in hosting an evening with one of 'An Inconvenient Truth' documentary creator Al Gore's trained environment crusaders Dr Grant Blashki to learn more about the effect we are all having on climate change.
The presentation focused on the extent of the damage and most importantly, how young Engineers can get involved in the solutions and make a difference. With an audience of about 70, the event was again sold out, demonstrating the concern and passion so many young engineers have on the issue.
The very captive and educated audience had great input to the evening with many discussing how they had taken on the challenge in there own lives and companies.
EWB and YEA-V both announced their plans to become Carbon Neutral organisations and discussed the many ways we as citizens and indeed young engineers can change the status quo.
If you are keen to make a difference and would like to find out more about how you can be involved in the challenge, please contact YEA-V chair, Mark Williams (mark.williams@psnworld.com) and come along to the YEA-V AGM on June 5th.
